Dr. Adaora Umeoji Has Been Appointed As Zenith Bank's First Female CEO. 

Adaora's career move with Zenith Bank has been inspiring. She joined Zenith Bank in the 90's as a youth corper when Zenith was a very small medium bank.

After few months of joining the Bank, she executed a daring feat that exceeded both her pay grade and the capabilities of her peers at the time.

She got a Flour Mill of Nigeria business for Zenith Bank. She got Julius Berger, the biggest construction company in Nigeria at that time to open an account with Zenith Bank.

She also got General Adisa, the powerful minister of works under Abacha's government, to open a government account with Zenith Bank.

Adaora holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Jos, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, and a first-class honours degree in law from Baze University, Abuja.

She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Salford, United Kingdom, a Master in Business Administration from the University of Calabar, and also has a doctorate in business administration from Apollos University, USA.

She is a Fellow of the UK Chartered Banker Institute, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Management, Nigerian Institute of Credit Administration, Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria, Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria.

In 2022, the Federal Government of Nigeria honored Dr. Umeoji with Officer of the Order of the Niger, as a recognition of her contributions to nation building.

Adaora, with her remarkable career story, is reminding my generation that glass ceilings can be broken wearing either a skirt or pant if trained or given the opportunity.

So, train that GIRL child now, no excuses for Gender preference because what a man can do, a WOMAN can do it better.
