Bishop David Oyedepo At 70

 PAPA@70.

Bishop David Oyedepo will forever be recognized as the enigmatic, generational, and transformational church leader he is. He would likely be the first to acknowledge this as his defining identity—God’s servant.

To perceive him solely in this way would be an act of willful blindness or sincere ignorance, neither of which is acceptable.

He is far more than that. No private individual, living or deceased, can lay claim to his monumental legacy in education, spanning from primary to secondary levels and encompassing two world-class universities: Covenant University—arguably Nigeria’s finest—and Landmark University.

Beyond these achievements, he is a creator of men, not merely in the context of his ecclesiastical role but in terms of tangible economic empowerment. There are thousands of enterprises that cannot recount their stories without referencing his direct contributions.

The exceptional accomplishments of his university graduates speak volumes, suggesting a deliberate design at play.

He is a nation-builder, a man whose influence extends globally. One could not encapsulate his impact in a single book, let alone a social media post.

This is to say that when you contemplate this man, understand that whatever you perceive or know is merely a vignette of his entirety.

Love or hate him, admire or detest him, he stands as an extraordinary symbol of pride for the Black race. If we were as committed to celebrating the greatness of our people as Americans are accustomed to doing, we would understand better.

Happy birthday to Bishop David Oyedepo. Words fail to capture the extraordinariness. #BDOat70

Covenant son,

Kingsmith
