Letter To My Daughter On Her 6th Birthday By Kingsmith Akinwale

Letter To My Daughter On Her 6th Birthday.

My dearest Esperanza,

Happy 6th birthday, #MyPomPom

Six whole years of you in our lives — six years of laughter that fills the house, questions that make us stop and think, hugs that melt away the hardest days, and a love so big it still surprises us.

From the moment you arrived, you changed our world for the better. Watching you grow into the kind, curious, funny, and brave little person you are becoming is one of the greatest joys of our lives. Your mum and I are endlessly proud of you — of your heart, your spirit, and the way you see magic in the everyday. You are deeply loved, more than words can ever fully say.

Today is special for another reason too. You share your birthday with someone very dear to us — my dad, your grandad. He would have been 68 today. Though he isn’t here to celebrate with us, he lives on in our hearts and in the stories we tell, and in the love that surrounds you. I like to think he smiles a little brighter on this day, knowing he shares it with you. You would have made him so proud.

So today we celebrate you — our wonderful daughter — and we remember those who came before us, whose love still guides us. You are part of something bigger, wrapped in family, history, and so much love.

Never forget how treasured you are. Keep being you, keep dreaming, keep laughing, and know that your mum and I will always be right here, cheering you on every step of the way.

Happy birthday, our beautiful Pompom
With all the love in the world, always.

Your Proud Dad
Kingsmith Akinwale (Duuu)
