NIGERIA'S PROBLEM: NOT LEADERSHIP BUT FOLLOWERSHIP!

I woke up this morning to think of how the rich die getting rich and the poor die getting poorer in a country where a single citizen can give out a million naira to all citizen no matter the category you fall, call it young, old, man, woman or children. I sat to think of what the problem is then i realised it lies in the statement "Nigeria's problem is... Leadership". Meanwhile, as a person who also see things differently from the existing perspective, my thought was Nigeria's problem is not all in Leadership but also the poor sense of followership. 99% of Nigerians will tell you the problem of Nigeria is our leaders. Whereas, if the question of "if you are opportuned to be Nigeria's President for 3 month, what will you do?" is asked, many will say different thing from what the problem is. Imagine a good citizen saying we have 'national cake' to share and eat to answer d question above. The ironical part is even the so called corporate and the elites also have this statement come out of there mouth. In a country in which we want fast development, with diverse languages, dialets and religions, we must have this country at the back of our minds and not keep voicing out this retrogressing statement. Nigeria is a country that need a leader with a mind of different languages, dialets, and religions even if he or she is born of one of each. If eating and sharing the 'national cake 'is what we the today's follower and tomorrow's leader is having as our priorities, then there is nothing to lead when the tomorrow finally comes. Fellow youth, we need to keep thinking of how best we can make this country because we actually owns the tomorrow that will surely come. For a good start, every morning when we wake up, we can begin to say GOD BLESS NIGERIA!
